Choreo: Legend of Loco is a 2D Musical Platformer set in a vibrant world with a Lovecraftian foundation. We’ve drawn inspiration from early Disney cartoons, Aztec and Mayan culture and the Cthulu Mythos to create a world that has a colourful and bright surface, with dark and twisted roots.

Inspired by platformers such as Rayman Origins, and the Super Mario series, we aim to create and engaging, smooth game-play experience with stunning visuals and depth.

Dynamic Music System:

Choreo incorporates a dynamic music system that develops the main score as you attract more followers. At the start of each level you will only have access to a simple guitar track, giving you a basic ambient score. Each Follower you collect brings more instruments to the track, eventually giving you access to the full theme at around the mid point of the level. The idea is that as the intensity of the level increases, so too will the music, and finding those additional instruments provides extra incentive to explore.

We want to evoke the sense that music is an extension of Choreo, that through it, he is in control of his environment, and as such plan to implement a variety of powers and skills directly related to the music of the game. These will range from manipulation of your followers, to altering environmental structures and more!

Engaging 2D Platforming :

Combining our own experiences as players with engaging genre tropes, we’ve aimed to create a visually impressive, enjoyable experience that will introduce you to our world, and some of the characters that inhabit it. We’ve drawn our inspirations from a deep catalogue of games we’ve enjoyed over the years, particularly looking at more recent titles such as Rayman Origins / Legends, Shovel Knight, and more to see what people enjoy, and what makes a platformer feel fluid and responsive.

Vibrant Hand Drawn Art and Characters:

Every asset in game has been hand-drawn by our artist, each created lovingly during the development process, and we think the quality speaks for itself. We want to expand the world of Choreo to feature a multitude of environments, enemies and characters, each beautifully detailed and animated to bring the game alive for players.

The Team:

Developed by Mega Sloth, an indie studio founded by 2 friends earlier this year, Choreo represents the result of our hard work over the past 5 months. Founded as a learning environment, “Choreo” naturally developed as we expanded our Game Design knowledge, moving from a simple tech demo into something we hope you’ll agree now has merit as a full Game Concept.

We’re new developers, with little to no experience prior to “Choreo”, but are working hard to ensure our first title is both exciting and engaging, with visual designed to absorb you into the world we are creating.

It’s been a long Journey to reach this point, through countless iterations of our Demo, mechanical and art style changes, and numerous long nights spend in the office, and we can’t wait to do it all over again for the main game.

We’re determined to make Choreo the best game it can be, and we hope you’ll join us on that journey!
