We are kickstarting the first issue of a limited series chronicling the super hero Max Atom. Whom works at a prison where the villains he captures are held. There was a time when capturing and redeeming fugitives was quite effective. Those days are quickly drifting away. The world is changing, the super villains are crossing lines no one ever thought they would. Many are at the point beyond help or forgiveness. His unbreakable moral code is constantly being tested by his enemies, peers and the public. He has seen the worst of society in the streets and behind bars. Yet he will not kneel down to the challenges in front of him.
For this kind of man to fall into a Downward spiral, it would take more than a few traumatic events to do so. What it would take is the focus of this series. He lives in a world where science and fantasy collide. We wanted to create a story which could work even if the costumes and super powers were stripped from it. You don’t have to make super heroes grounded, gritty or real to make them believable. They need to be human.
Our goal is to create the first issue of the series in order to get this train moving. The comic will have a color cover and shaded interior art. If the goal is achieved, we will begin work on the comic. Each issue will be written, drawn, inked, shaded and lettered by Jim and Ryan.
Help us create this tragic tale of a man falling down through our kickstarter. The first 33 backers will recieve a free sketch card as an early backer bonus and our way of saying thank you for your support. For your help, we are offering various kinds of rewards including the physical comic, digital copies, Max Atom Merchandise, and original art by Jim Kern. The original art will include the physical pencil copy, and a high gloss print of the digital inks or colors. We are also offering the chance to have your one page comic drawn!
