Los Angeles, Calif., December 2, 2013 – Fashion illustrator and designer Connie Lim has launched a Kickstarter project to fully realize her Fashion Playing Card series as a complete, gorgeously rendered deck. “Decked Out” will be a unique collectible of 54 individually hand-drawn cards, an art series that is at once intensely personal and an accessible, shareable story.

Each card is a different drawing created to reflect a time and period on the artist’s journey over the last several years. The artwork is meant to be held, studied, exchanged and played with. Some say that a piece of art isn’t made real until it is put out into the world — this work is a tangible telling of Connie’s story, intimately realized in the palm of your hand.

Connie Lim first began the series in 2009, releasing a limited run of 14 cards via her website. “Decked Out” will complete the 54-card deck, including 40 new illustrations and refinished variants of the original 14. The series will be available in a paper tuck box or a custom matte black case made of a sleek anodized metal. Funding for the Kickstarter project runs through Monday, December 23rd, 2013.
