Fernando the Fabulous is a 16mm short film that tells the story of a washed up, alcoholic, magician. In his prime he was a fabulous, great magician. He had his peak of success but in recent years his craft for performing magic has faded, leaving him a husk of the magician he once was. He has become the joke of the entertainment community and his tricks fail repeatedly. When he is booed and laughed off stage, he feels like he wants to disappear and decides to hang up his magic wand for good.
This is a student project I am working on with my peers from Seattle Film Institute. All the actors and crew are volunteers. The costs involved with the project are renting a performance venue, purchasing props and costumes, and feeding the actors and crew during production. There is an active Kickstarter campaign that is looking for backers who want to see this film come to life.
The Fernando the Fabulous Kickstarter campaign must be funded before 2/16/14.
