Zuzance is a small start-up in Cheyenne Wyoming. We’re a team of some people who know a little about clothes and a little about tech and we thought we’d try and bring those things together in a platform that allowed people to take it on the go.
Our story is pretty simple. We’ve always thought that NFC was an underutilized technology and we were searching for a way that we could integrate it more with peoples lives. We really needed a platform that would allow people to bring it with them and clothing just seemed to fit, you wear it all the time and it usually serves no purpose other than warmth or style, so we thought we would give it a third purpose and sew some NFC tags into some clothes and see what happened.
The end result was a few months of testing and gathering a group of friends that had the skill sets we needed (Some tech people and some clothing people) and at the end of all of that we had our finished product, the Zuzance Hoody. The best surprise of all was that it was actually useful. It was low maintenance and it only takes a few minutes for anyone to set up the embedded NFC tags to do some pretty cool things. We’ve been having people test them for around a month now and we’ve had people do everything from set up the Hoody’s to integrate with their Smart Thermostats and lightbulbs to make posts for them on social networks about their location.
After people showed an interest in the Hoody’s, we decided we’d see if it was a wide spread interest, that’s when we went to Kickstarter.
