Tall Tails, the mobile game inspired by dog rescue has launched on Kickstarter, and next plans to raise awareness of, and support, dog rescue charities.
Developed by ZUUL Labs of Huntington Beach, CA, Tall Tails is a rescue dog-themed adventure puzzle game that takes players into retro, storybook worlds. Journey through colorful grid environments with various objectives, obstacles, special tiles and power-ups. Laced with addicting combos and puzzles ranging from fun and creative, to brain-breaking and mockingly challenging, Tall Tails appeals to all audiences, especially dog lovers, and will initially launch on iOS and Android.
The main objective of Tall Tails is to complete the varying puzzles in a certain number of moves, having touched every tile on the board; and overcoming certain obstacles like monsters. Players collect coins and special combo rewards for bonuses like power-ups, extra lives, and unique dog disguises. Currently the game includes five familiar storybook lands, such as “Hansel and Gretel” and “Sleeping Beauty,” each with 25 puzzles. If the Kickstarter goal is met, additional storybooks, challenging levels and character graphics will be added.
Tall Tails includes a unique staging area above the puzzle board where characters from the game interact accordingly with the action the player is experiencing in the puzzle. For example, a monster will appear in the staging area as one advances onto the puzzle board. The detailed animation alongside the multiplicity of character graphics and puzzle levels has the developers of Tall Tails asking for support on Kickstarter with the goal of $150,000.
The inspiration for Tall Tails and its characters comes from dog rescue. ZUUL Lab’s Founder/ CEO, Marty Cox, and his wife, Louise Montgomery, have been heavily involved in dog rescue for many years, and wanted to incorporate their passionate cause into this new mobile game that all can enjoy. It is through the success of the game that ZUUL Labs will further support and promote rescue dog awareness and responsible pet ownership by donating a percentage of in-app purchases to the cause.
Tall Tails is suitable for all ages, with colourful graphics to high-level strategic puzzles. It provides something for the casual gamer to those that desire difficult brainteasers.
