The Shuttl is a beautifully designed, minimalist, dockable, leather wallet. Handmade in England using vegetable tanned Italian leather, it’s a ground-breaking product. It can be docked in its bigger brother, the Space Station, when you need to carry more cash or want to be sure of having all your cards or more banknotes with you.
This idea belongs to Peter Sandford, a designer and specialist in leatherwork from England. He has been innovating and hand-making products for years, producing a diverse range of items from windsurf sails to briefcases.
The Shuttl’s ability to dock it in its bigger brother, the Space Station wallet, on those occasions when you need to carry ALL your cards and/or more banknotes with you is what sets it apart from all the other front-pocket wallets currently on the market.
Front pocket wallets are great for carrying a handful of credit cards and a few banknotes. I’m never without mine and wouldn’t want to go back my old style, fat bi-fold wallet but I found that on many occasions I’d still have to take that out with me, either because I needed all my cards that day or I needed to carry more cash than my front pocket wallet would hold.
Carrying two wallets felt like a backward step but trying to keep abreast of which cards I had with me in my small wallet was a pain too.
I knew there had to be a better way. Having been a maker of bespoke leather watch bands for some years, I started sketching out ideas, had a ‘Eureka!’ moment and began cutting out and sewing up prototypes.
It’s taken a while refining and perfecting the design but having used the final prototype for some months now, we’re glad to be able to offer the Shuttl dockable wallet system to a wider market via a Kickstarter campaign.
So – what is the Shuttl?
It’s a stylish, minimalist, front pocket wallet, hand-made in England from full grain vegetable tanned leather. Designed to comfortably hold a minimum of 6 cards and 6 banknotes but the forgiving qualities of this leather mean that it will expand over time if you want to cram in a couple more.
What’s different and unique about the Shuttl wallet is the ability to ‘dock’ it in its bigger brother the Space Station wallet on those occasions when you need to carry ALL your cards and/or more banknotes with you.
