NEW BRAUNFELS, TX (December 8, 2014) – Safe House Films is pleased to announce the trailer release for the new television series Avery Park. Names such as Spider-Man, Captain America, and Iron Man have all become popular heroes throughout the country, but what about the Phoenix 12? This new group of superhero kids is primed to hit households soon, in the locally filmed, family-oriented mystery/sci-fi series, Avery Park.

After the mysterious death of her internationally famous super-hero father, Alyson Clark (actress Lainie Corryn) returns to his small hometown of Avery Park, where she finds that fitting in can be difficult in a school where everyone already knows your name – especially when you have your own developing superpowers to hide. But Alyson isn’t the only one in Avery Park with secrets; it turns out that some of her fellow students have unusual skills of their own that are beginning to emerge. When a villain returns to take revenge on Alyson and her family, she must team up with her new friends – and even some enemies – in order to battle the invading evil. As their new abilities are slowly revealed, the fledgling “Phoenix 12” learn that it’s not the powers which define a hero; it is how those powers are used that really matter.

Avery Park features an all-Texas cast with talent from across the state: Lisandra Ortega, Dylan Sawler, and Krystal Kieninger from the Dallas area, while Taryn Reed, Kendall Brashear, Kaitlyn Dutton, and Kaylynn Yarelle hail from the San Antonio area. Molly Moynihan, Kat Alexander, Matthew Beck are Austin-area actors; Charlie Douglas from Houston, and Lainie Corryn is from New Braunfels. Shooting locations will showcase Central Texas communities, including the New Braunfels Christian Academy, which provides the “perfect school environment to shoot the show,” according to series creator Mike Manero. The local community has already thrown their support behind the production by coming out to be extras in the trailer, and opening their homes and businesses for filming.

With the trailer wrapped, producers Mike Manero and Mike Ford are turning their efforts to filming the full pilot in 2015. As with many indie projects, a little help is needed to take this next step, so Avery Park has launched a Kickstarter campaign that runs through January 7, 2015. Supporters can donate on the project’s page at www.kickstarter.com.  The show’s official website is www.AveryParkTV.com, and fans may also enjoy the Avery Park TV Facebook page facebook.com/averyparktv where they can find exciting behind-the-scenes details, and follow their favorite characters.
