My name is Jake Bayer. I’m a 17-year-old independent game developer and I also run a small game development business called Closed Umbrella Games. I made a game called Dogs of Combat and I managed to get it on Sony’s PlayStation Mobile platform. It got over 18,000 downloads while it was available. However, Sony recently shut down PlayStation Mobile, leaving Dogs of Combat without a platform to be available on. So, I’ve decided to start developing for iOS. The problem is, I don’t have a Mac and I need to upgrade Unity (the game engine I use to make my games). So right now, I have a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to help me do just that.
What I Need and What You Get
My goal is to raise at least $4900 so I can get a MacBook, get an Apple Developer License, two Unity Pro upgrades, and an iOS Pro upgrade. I have a budget listed on the campaign. If I don’t reach my goal, I will use whatever funds I raise to get what I can afford. But it’s not about just me. It’s also about the people who support me. I want them to have a place in my story and how I got this far in my career.
Why Your Help is Needed and Impact
I’m not doing this campaign just to raise funds for a game. I’m doing this because I want to deliver a game that’s yet to have found something innovative to a larger audience. I want the world to know that there are young people who can change the world by doing what they are best at. And I believe what I’m best at is making amazing games that everyone can enjoy. And the best way to do that is through the Apple community. I need your support because I want to be involved in this amazing community, and I can’t do it without your support.
If you want to see my games on the iOS App Store, please check out my Indiegogo campaign. Making a contribution would mean so much to me.
