Ever dreamed of having your own armor or exoskeleton? Like from Iron Man or Elysium? Well that dream is a little bit closer thanks to a recent Kickstarter project, posted by Clayton Haight. Clayton, 14 years old, is well-known for being a maker. Last year he was interviewed by the Daily Planet and he also was featured on websites like Time and Makezine. At the moment it’s just a prototype but with the funding from Kickstarter he hopes to refine it and take it to the next level. There’s some pretty awesome rewards too for just 15 dollars you can get a medium-sized object printed off of Thingiverse and mailed to you.

At 20$ you can get a parts list and cad files so you can build your own! At 25$ you can either get a bigger 3D print or one of the joint’s from the suit! And finally if your company would like some cheap advertising, for just 50$ you can get your logo engraved in the suit on a good visible portion. The suit, if funded will be featured on the Daily Planet. Clayton also intends to take it to Toronto Maker Festival 2016 so if you’re in the area stop by and see it!

At the moment the legs are not powered but Clayton plans to add springs to the joints to save energy when you’re running. The arms at the moment are not built but that’s why he needs the funding! He plans to be able to curl 100-150 pounds by the end of the project. Not only that but the lifting power of the whole thing will be quite impressive.

Why should you back this project? Clayton is just 14 years old but he is very qualified to finish this project and he’s only asking for 780$ in funding! If you’re interesting in sponsoring him you can contact him at clayhaight@yahoo.ca
