Toronto, Canada — February 8, 2016 | Farzad Hariri loves to take his two children bike riding all year round on the streets of Toronto. But winter cycling can be tough on young children, or anyone for that matter. A rider’s head and face are exposed to bitter cold weather and – more dangerously- to flying debris. Hariri’s search for a solution came up empty-handed.

So this enterprising physician and innovator teamed up with designers and engineers to create VizorX, a full-face shield similar to what motorcycle riders wear. VizorX protects the rider’s head from wind and cold weather. His Kickstarter campaign, (www.kickstarter.com), launched Monday, February 8th, and is looking to raise $20,000 to manufacture VizorX, an anti-scratch full-face cover with UV protection and a dual anti-fog system. Delivery is expected in September 2016.

“I was shocked there was nothing like this on the market,” Hariri said. “Most bike visors just came down to the nostrils and left the lower part of the face totally exposed. VizorX solves that problem.”

Let’s face it: no one wants to keep wiping a visor that constantly fogs up. The majority of similar products on the market still have not resolved the fogging issue. They instead work around this problem by offering face shields that do not extend below the nostrils, and therefore, leave the lower part of the face exposed. VizorX is a true full-face shield with an anti-fog system. It comprises a series of holes on the surface of the shield both above the level of nostrils and above the level of eyes. The holes are connected to fine channels, which direct the incoming airflow down towards the inner surface of the shield where there is moisture from exhaled breath. The new fresh air then dissipates the fog immediately while the rider is moving.

Not only does this solution offer clear vision and protection, its material is also extremely durable. Hazardous debris such as flying pebbles, branches and other objects will be deflected off its surface!

VizorX is made of industry standard 3mm polycarbonate clear plastic with the same specifications currently used for motorcycle helmets. It does offer the same protection against impacts, although the speed and intensity of impacts for bicycle riders are usually not nearly as severe as one would expect for motorcycles.

VizorX is designed to fit any sized helmet. The face shield is lightweight, offering easy installation, adjustments and detachment. It attaches quickly and easily by virtue of the industrial grade adhesive mounts. The elastic helmet cover molds to the shape of your helmet without changing its original shape, and you will not need to purchase a helmet specific to this product. In addition to its protective features, patent pending innovative designs such as different colors and patterns are available.

The product will retail starting at $49 for the clear face shield and helmet cover. The face shield currently comes in clear, reflective gold and silver, as well as smoke. Super early-bird backers on Kickstarter can secure the VizorX Basic, (clear face shield and helmet cover) for as little as $29, and early bird backers can get VizorX Basic for $39. Estimated delivery is September 2016 to anywhere in the world.
