The Spirit of Entrepreneurship in Africa is deliberately halted. Current events emerging in South-Africa proves that a better life for all was just a hallucination of a desperate revolutionary movement that spent decades in exile, and suddenly came to power unexpectedly without a clear economic plan. The recent policy or whatever it is, that no one can really explain is another example. What is Radical Economic Transformation?
This is a million dollar question that even its authors can’t explain to the electorate in South-Africa, now our mindless former AU chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma wants to sell it to the rest of the African continent. But I can tell you exactly what it is, Radical Economic Transformation it is another politicians piggy bank just like so called Funding Institutions set up for micro lending.
But the reality is only politicians, their families and close friends can and will always be the only benefactors. As for the rest of us the only thing we will always get is long queues in this Funding Institutions and their micro-lending packages that exists only in paper. The real solution if you want to participate in the economy is standing up and doing it yourself and seek funding somewhere else., and the great place to start your funding needs is crowdfunding like I did and maybe contributors will buy into your idea.
Next time you submit a well researched proposal and business plan to one of these Funding Institutions, after a month or two some politician’s child, relative or friend coincidentally establishes the same business at the same location while your proposal is been processed and ultimately you are told your idea won’t work due to competition and should try someplace else. Now that’s gravy train and unfortunately for us with no tickets can’t get on-board.
