What started as a purely peer to peer model, has evolved to encompass individuals, sole traders, and hire companies – bringing our users a wide range of options all over Australia. Up to now ToolMates Hire has focussed on the Australian market, but we have grand plans!
The platform actually has the functionality for international use built in, which will allow us to deploy ToolMates Hire in any other country in the world. We have a trip to Europe scheduled for next year, meeting with potential investors and researching the local hire market.
The App will be based on the existing online platform and will be available for free. Improving the speed people can find local tools and equipment, and enabling a speedy and secure process for hiring them at the swipe of a thumb. Following the rollout of our new website and updated branding, ToolMates Hire is promoting 50 local Sydney rental businesses after just starting a new push for local hire companies to list their equipment on the platform less than two months ago.
In August 2016 we created an online tool-sharing platform. It stores tools and allows customers to search based on tool type and location. Since its establishment, it rapidly expanded gaining new members and tool listings on a daily basis. We established a trusted network of Sydney’s best local tool hire companies, and helped hundreds of busy people with over 2,000 tools on the platform for every purpose.
The ToolMates Hire family is growing rapidly, with new suppliers coming on board every week. The number of searches performed on our site is growing as well, which means we must constantly focus on improving the service we deliver.
We plan to expand our platform to other countries as the demand for our service is quickly rising. We want to continue to grow at this pace, open up new product lines and new geographical areas.
Our first customers were residential but later on we secured larger hire companies as customers as well. Our target customers are both day to day tradies, and tech savvy people who are working on their own home for maintenance or doing renovations. The key issue experienced by our targeted customer group is the ability to rent specific tools in the short term, locally.
Today Tool Hiring marketplace ToolMates Hire is celebrating its first 2,000 tools following the launch of its revamped website and impressive quarterly growth. With our construction-industry based insights, large clientele base of industry contacts, and loyal site users, we are confident in our ability to put ToolMates hire on the path to grab a significant part of the $203m spent every year in tool hiring services in Australia.
