SELDI simplifies the video recording process and makes POV videos accessible to everyone.
Seoul, South Korea – April 4, 2018 — Today on Kickstarter, MYPOVE, Inc. is releasing the SELDI. The first wearable video rig with all the essential functions for recording videos with any smartphone, action camera, digital compact camera, or 360° / VR camera.
SELDI has 6 modes for recording videos: wearable POV, mini tripod, hand grip, selfie stick, stabilizer, and multi-mount. Each of these modes replaces up to 6 different camera accessories. Users can record first-person point-of-view (POV) videos handsfree, capture video time lapses, reduce shakiness in their videos and more.
SELDI’s 7th mode is for entertainment. This mode lets use your smartphone hands-free to read books, watch videos, or play Pokemon Go.
Small lightweight cameras and other camera accessories weighing less than 1.1 lbs. / 500 grams, can be mounted on the SELDI using 1/4″ – 20 mounts.
And best of all, no tools are needed to mount a camera on the SELDI or to change SELDI into a different mode.
Because the SELDI is so versatile, it’s perfect for vlogging, capturing footage during protests and marches, recording home movies, or watching the play back of the videos you just recorded.
During the Kickstarter campaign, all the accessories needed to access all the SELDI’s features are included.
The SELDI Pro Package is available for pre-order on Kickstarter for the super early bird price of $77, but everyone will be able to pre-order a SELDI for at least 30% off the planned retail price during the crowdfunding campaign. The campaign runs from April 4th to May 9th.
SELDI Makes POV Filming Possible for a South Korean Horror Movie
SELDI plays a starring role in the recently released South Korean movie Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum / 곤지암.
The movie follows 6 internet broadcasters as they live stream their experiences in one of the 7 most haunted places in the world according to CNN, Gonjiam Psychiatric Hospital.
SELDI was used throughout production and allowed the director to capture selfie videos and first-person POV videos from each of the actors. The director chose to use footage filmed using GoPros mounted on the SELDI in the film for added authenticity.
South Korea audiences have been loving this new style of film that blends live streaming footage with documentary style filmmaking. So much so, that Gonjiam outsold Steven Spielberg’s latest release, Ready Player One, on its opening weekend.
SELDI Successfully Crowdfunded in Asia
In 2016 and 2017, MYPOVE successfully completed 4 crowdfunding campaigns and delivered rewards to more than 2,000 supporters.
On the Korean crowdfunding platform Wadiz, MYPOVE completed three campaigns and exceeded its funding goals by almost 1000% for each campaign.
In Japan, SELDI exceeded its funding goal by 800% on the Makuake crowdfunding platform.
