Unicorn Dungeon is an upcoming absurdist comedy fantasy adventure game by Stand Off Software. It will be released soon for Windows and Linux and will be available on Steam and DRM free download from Itchio and other sites. It sports about 4 hours of engaging and hilarious gameplay.

A playable demo is available, and the link is on the Kickstarter page.

Set in an environment rife with dry wit and off-the-wall humor, Unicorn Dungeon is the first in a series of six adventure games inspired by “absurdist comedy” such as Monty Python and Firesign Theatre. The series chronicles the adventures of the brave knight Sir Typhil on a quest to find a unicorn in order to be crowned king.

During his journey, Typhil meets some absurd characters and must think his way out of even more absurd situations. The magical land of Artovya can be quite a silly place, but peril waits at every turn for an unwary adventurer. Can he successfully retrieve a unicorn and return with it to the castle?

While the game is primarily a point and click adventure with all that entails, at certain times it magically transforms into a roguesque dungeon crawler in which Typhil must fight for his life against ferocious beasts.

Unicorn Dungeon is almost complete already, but this Kickstarter is for the final finishing funds for things like voice acting and text translation. The game will be released no matter what, but with the help of the Kickstarter community, we can make it even better with high quality voice acting and translation into many different languages so that it will be accessible by the largest number of people.

Go check out the demo and then help support the development of Unicorn Dungeon.
