CodeWorld the Miniatures Game is an exciting new entry into the skirmish-level wargaming scene. Set in cyberspace, CWtMG plays in three fully realized dimensions with dominoes rather than dice. Using a layered set of action-based mechanics, players vie for tactical advantage as they gather information to meet their unique agendas.
Tim Schurmann, owner of Dreamstruck Games, has spent a year and a half designing, prototyping, and playtesting CWtMG in hopes to create a new wargaming system. The Kickstarter campaign is Dreamstruck Games first, and an opportunity for anyone to invest themselves into a company and game system that is excited to invest back into them.
About the game:
In the near future, a new “dream-tech” VR rig is built, allowing full immersion into cyberspace-based virtual realms. One day, a new realm appears… CodeWorld. Operators gather bands of VR hackers, coders, and fighters to confront this new frontier and extract as much valuable information as possible!
Build bands of approximately 10 miniatures. Battle, socialize, and hack your way across a cityscape to command the information initially possessed by Personas (NPCS). Use brilliant, creative tactics to outplay your opponent(s) in a fun, highly tactical skirmish game in three dimensions.
Use dominoes instead of dice to perform move actions, lock onto your opponent with attack actions, play a mini-bluffing game in social actions, create sequences for powerful effects with hack actions, or troubleshoot your friendly characters!
Pick one of four initial factions, the agile mercenary InfoNinjas, the paramilitary hacktivist Emoticorps, enigmatic and evil The Glitch, or the adventuring VARPer (Virtual Action Role-Player) Guilds.
Number of players: CodeWorld the Miniatures Game is a 2-4 player skirmish game.
Time required: About 1 hour for each player.
