BAYANI is the first All-Filipino made fighting game that is heavily inspired by the Philippines’ rich history, culture, and mythology.
Manila, Philippines, December 12, 2018 — BAYANI: Kanino Ka Kakampi?! Developed by Ranida Games recently launched its Kickstarter campaign and will end on December 30, 2018. The company has also stated that the game will be released for Steam Early Access some time Q1 of 2019.
BAYANI is a fast-paced, 1-on-1 indie fighting game made by an all Filipino development team and is the first fighting game made in the Philippines. The game’s roster of characters is heavily inspired by the country’s national heroes with characters such as Joe drawing heavy inspiration from real-life hero counterpart Dr. Jose Rizal.
The goal of Ranida Games is to create a Fighting Game that is easier to pick-up but difficult to master which will cater to both newcomers and professionals alike. However, it still retains the depth and mind games necessary to make it viable for competitive play. To aid in development, Ranida Games has partnered with Professional Fighting Game Legend Ryan “Filipino Champ” Ramirez to be their primary consultant in further improving the game.
“BAYANI’s development started 2016 and it has undergone a lot of changes since its inception.” says Ben Banta, CEO of Ranida Games. “With feedback from the local Fighting Game Community, the game’s core concept has transitioned from a simple mobile fighting game to a competitive PC Fighting game.” He added, “We are now asking support from the community to back our Kickstarter campaign as well as to support the development of the game as their feedback is valuable especially to a small indie team like ours.”
“It is very fortunate that FChamp shared our vision and goals for the game as he is also proud to showcase our country’s rich culture to the world as well as to prove that the Philippine Gaming Industry can produce quality games that can be globally competitive.” says Walter Manalo, Head of Business Development for Ranida Games.
“The game has already been in development for some time now and Kickstarter fund will help us to add more features and expedite the development so that we can release the game earlier,” Ben added. The game’s Kickstarter campaign has a series of stretch goals that when achieved can add further content and feature to the game. It also offers different tiers to back, with all backers getting a demo copy of the game as a Christmas gift. Backers of the $10 USD tier and above will also receive a copy of the Early Access version when it comes out in 2019.
