The crumbs have been dropped and the scuffle to end all scuffles is about to commence.
An award-winning board game featuring park animals fighting over randomly scattered breadcrumbs will be launching on Kickstarter on March 26th.
Designer Dylan McCusker, founder of Tidbit Games, is making his first foray into game publishing “Crumbs”, which won Best in Show at the Boston Festival of Indie Games 2018.
Crumbs. Those looking to crush their friends in a winner-takes-all battle for superiority and control will be delighted to find themselves duking it out in a fresh new setting: your ordinary city park. Crumbs has been in development for the last 3 years, playtested countless times, and will be launching on Kickstarter with all of the art, design, and gameplay complete. The game will be going for $30 on Kickstarter, with various pledge levels including one limited reward tier featuring custom art made for that pledge level’s backers by the game artist! The games are due to be received by backers around November 2019.
About the game: It’s yet another sunny day in the city. Children play ball just across the pond, tourists stroll along the paved paths admiring the local foliage, and granny has just settled herself on a bench with a plastic baggie full those long-sought-for bits of stale bread. She remains unaware, however, of the critters looming in the dark, just around the bend, WAITING for those precious bits of bread to hit the ground.
In Crumbs, you control a small army of critters (either the ducks, pigeons, chipmunks, or squirrels) vying for for spaces on the game board (a city park). Ultimately, your goal is to gain the most crumbs. Every round players will utilize their available actions and their special powers to position themselves in the most optimal space on the board, for the inevitable crumb drop. After everyone has taken their turns, 20 crumbs (represented by small wooden cubes) are dropped onto the game board, spreading out randomly among the map, rewarding those who strategically placed themselves, and causing chaos.
