Duel purpose cards turn scenario cards into modifiers and most importantly items into health. Your game will last, at most, the number of turns as you have cards in your starting deck. With 3 actions each turn, one of which sacrificing life to gain items, the clock is ticking.
Aesthetically designed to combine fairytale illustrations with German expressionism, the art evokes a sense of wonder and dread and you and your friends light your lanterns and explore the secrets of the woods. Over 80 pieces of unique art are included in the base game with more in each upcoming scenario.
Physical gaming is a great social experience as long as the game has a focus on cooperation and not dead time, stat keeping, or intricate math. This game is designed for “hard core” gamers who do not have the time play “hard core” games, nor the friends willing to dive into the more complex role playing games available, this game attempts to be elegant and streamlined and accessible while still being deep, replay able, tense, and with the inclusion of “hard mode” cards, a real challenge.
