Made a design inspired by the Maya culture to promote and disseminate their particular art. The cards have original design inspired by the mural paintings and crafts, based on the ideology of the main gods.
The Mayan numbers.
The Mayans used their own numbering and it is a very simple method, a point represents one, two points represent two, three and four follow the same rule, 5 is represented by a line, to make 6 is a line plus a point, 7 is a line plus 2 points the same with 8 and 9, for 10 there are two lines.
Ace, King, Queen and Jack
The Mayan glyphs have already been interpreted forming a syllabary and a writing structure very similar to the Japanese language. We use these glyphs to form each of the names of the cards.
Design and Inspiration
The design is inspired by the MAYA culture in its murals and handicrafts, the four main gods were the inspiration and figures from the San Bartolo murals were used as the basis for the gods and the interpretation of each god; We conducted an investigation for 2 months a little longer, so that the image would be faithful to the Mayan interweaving of each god. The writing and the graphology were a bit easier, since we had previous information, the Mayan culture is an exciting subject, well the prehispanic culture of my country is incredible in all aspects and that is the engine of this project, so much people enjoy their beauty.
