Do you have what it takes to become a UFO Mechanic? Or a Bounty Hunter? TopPick is a party card game that allows you to “hire” your fellow players for comedic and bizarre jobs. Players pitch their best traits to an “employer”, while fellow players sabotage one another with negative traits. Who will beat the odds and win the job?
Our Story
Inspired by our struggles with rejection letters and disappointment, TopPick is a party style card game that puts a humorous and improvisational twist on the most dreaded part of the job searching process: the interview.
We are founded by 6 undergraduate students at the University of Washington who have all been through our fair share of interviews. We wanted to create a fun activity that would bring together coworkers, friends, and even strangers to turn the nerve-wracking interview process into a fun and interactive storytelling experience.
The game itself is meant to represent a mock interview, one that replaces serious aspects with silly alternatives. To play, simply pitch your candidacy to the employer using two positive trait cards from your hand. But there’s a catch – there are negative trait cards too, and applicants can use these to ruin one another’s chances. Once the candidates have all had a chance to defend themselves, the employer hires the candidate they think is best for the job.
