Introducing BeoBia
Founded by British entrepreneur Thomas Constant, the company is soon to begin its first investment round on Kickstarter, in July, launching its first-to-market product, Re_. Our insect growing pod enables you to create your own source of nutritious protein. Empowering you to reduce your carbon footprint, reuse your food waste, and rethink your relationship with food.
Using highly sustainable technology and manufacturing processes, the product is targeting the ever-growing consumer demand for a sustainable source of protein in the home, office, school, wherever they themselves want it.
Re_ is an urban insect growing pod, empowering the public to create their own source of sustainable, healthy and delicious protein. Re_, that will be available in three sizes, produces mealworms that are 54% protein and 22,000 times more water efficient than beef.
Using sophisticated 3D printing techniques to manufacture Re_, the product is made from recycled plant-based plastics from renewable resources such as corn starch, that can be easily industrially composted.
Re_ is designed, manufactured and shipped from the same location, and as well as using eco-friendly materials with BeoBia’s innovative manufacturing techniques, the company can even further minimise its impact on the environment.
Re_’s small, modular and cable free design allows it to be placed anywhere with a stable temperature and makes it extremely easy to use, encouraging people of all ages to take an interest and get involved. Simply feed each tray, wait for the insects to develop, harvest them, and then turn them into sustainable, healthy and delicious food.
