My name is Mpho Matomela I’m born and raised in South Africa staying in Northwest province, I have created a crowdfunding campaign on BackaBuddy to raise funds to help unprivileged families in North-West province villages, this support course is for individuals willing to make difference in one’s life.
Many people might go to bed hungry, government alone can’t do all the work, we need initiative like fundraising to help unprivileged families, we are hoping to raise R250000 that will allow us to feed 500 families who are unable to provide for their families during the lockdown. Funds raised will be used to purchase digital food vouchers for those in need since we facing world pandemic covid-19 it has been worse for people living in the village as people are retrenched due to the virus. It’s not easy for people living in villages to access NGO providing food daily.
Over the years, we have witnessed Unemployment growing exponentially in South Africa mostly affected province is North West, which we all can agree that most of the villages has no resources and they are undeveloped. Much of the villages consists of flat areas of scattered trees and grassland. The Magaliesberg mountain range in the northeast extends about 130 km from Pretoria.
My question is, are we ready for the impact that unemployment has cost the province, are we ready to let unprivileged families go to bed on hungry stomach? When you unemployed you will not afford to buy food, before you start a business you need capital, I need us as individuals to assist them not to be starved by hunger.

The papers should be regarded as general guidelines to (agricultural) policymakers as to the current socio-economic situation in the North West, particularly with regards to poverty, inequality and unemployment. Which province has the highest unemployment?
Seven out of the nine provinces in South Africa saw increases in unemployment, the largest being in the North West. Although the Eastern Cape has seen gains in reducing unemployment in Q1 (37.4%) compared to Q2 (35.4%), North West it is still regarded as the province with the highest unemployment rate.
The province is the birthplace of prominent political figures: Lucas Mangope, Edna Molewa, Moses Kotane, Abram Onkgopotse Tiro, Ruth Mompati, Ahmed Kathrada, Aziz Pahad, Essop Pahad and others. Are we ready as a nation to let down heroes like them who were servant of the people, to fail their people, who used to serve them? To show that we have seen their efforts over the past ( within all the economic crises and downgrades) and with a small amount as a R20, we can uplift our Villages. The beneficiaries will be identified in different poor areas in North West. Places like Kwaarikraal, Moretele, Morokweng, Mothutlong, Lehurutse, Ganyesa and all neighboring villages. Places like Hammanskraal and neighboring township will be looked more into after a weeks of raising the money. Please note this campaign will make so much difference to their social economic and health, for people living with chronic diseases
