The Final Word is an expandable collection of word games in a single deck of cards for people who love word play. No pieces, parts, or game boards to limit play. Currently there are two dozen games for 1-6 players that can be learned in a few minutes without a laborious list of rules.
Purchased by school curriculum administrators and community centers to add to their monthly activities, The Final Word is a fun way for kids to improve spelling and enhance vocabulary, and challenging for those who enjoy word games. Games combine puzzle-solving, word-creation skills, and quick thinking.
Play a “small” game while sitting in a waiting room. Play it “big” around the dining room table with the whole family. There are a handful of key principles that apply to all games and a group of groovy moves specific to each iteration. You may choose your words carefully, but it will still take skill to convert cards to words — long words, odd words, buzz words, even fightin’ words — in games that range from easy to expert. It’s fresh, fun, family-friendly and fascinating when you find that what’s really cool about The Final Word is that you can create a game of your own with this take-em-anywhere deck of cards.
Simple games: “Last Man Standing”, “Seeing Red” and “OW” are great for kids. More challenging games: “End to End”, and “Eight It All” will give your brain a workout. And everyone’s favorite game, “Split Run” will give you a rush when you see how you can score 50 points in a single turn!
With this single deck of 120 cards, you can dive in and complete “Run the Table” in less than 30 minutes. For an evening competition, try “Leftovers”, a game where you can steal points from the player whose turn preceded yours.
