On April 15 2018, a new Kickstarter campaign was launched for COMIRPG, a new RPG game that aims to bring a novel way of playing table-top roleplaying games to life.

COMIRPG is a gaming system designed to be flexible, light on rules and focused on story and character. The campaign also aims to fund one of the first settings designed to be played with the COMIRPG System; the historically inspired high fantasy world of Tevara.

Both the system itself and the Tevara setting, in contrast to most works of fiction, are designed around a Marxist worldview, doing away with many tropes that have a basis in other worldviews and putting a strong emphasis on the role of social class, materialism and the role of broad social trends in shaping the world and the people in it.

This game system and its setting have been in continuous development for over 5 years, as the creator’s own personal project, which he is now aiming to bring to wider audience by creating an initial, complete First Edition of the game that can be picked up and played by tabletop gamers everywhere.

Backers of the campaign are slated to receive digital DRM-free copies of the game, in print and play format if they donate upwards of 10 and 15 pounds, or the ability to name aspects of the game setting if they donate upwards of 5 pounds.

Online play tests are available to those who pledge upwards of 40 pounds, allowing interested backers to experience the game as it was intended to be played by its creator months before it may launch.

The early drafts of the character sheet and basic rules are available on the page as well, for any interested parties to look at and get a feel for what the finished game will be like.
