We need your help bringing our Factory Sample prototype to market.
It’s been a 5 year labour of love designing and developing a carbon fiber acoustic guitar of premium quality from sound to finish as well as functionality at an affordable price.
To see my dream into fruition, I require funding in the form of 5 pre orders so I may complete a production run of 5 of the first of their kind so that it may provide content for a blog with rolling updates of the process unfolding from beginning to end, this would create enough interest to grow the business organically with another run of 5 products to follow once the first run is complete.
They’re hand made and the time frame would be 3-4 months for all 5. Doing it this way greatly reduces the cost of making a single instrument at a time.
It would also give me the opportunity to create an online presence and promote the brand. I chose a very short campaign duration because the truth is, the sooner I’m funded, the sooner work begins. A long campaign would just delay potential time that would have otherwise been spent on beginning the build process of the first run.
My long term goals are to release more insturment models e.g. An Archtop guitar, a travel guitar, an electric guitar as well as violins and other stringed insturments, knowing how long it took me to fund my dream myself, these are very distant goals but, I’d like to put it on record that the designs of some of them are complete.
Lastly, I’d like to state that, because I’m from South Africa i have been exposed to high levels of poverty.
So to address this, I have designed an insturment to work as efficiently and responsively as possible with the most premium of quality in mind while retaining affordability.
I intend to add value to “brand South Africa” in the sense that I would like the world to know, we are capable of competing on the global market.
And to raise the stakes I’d like to pledge every 10th instrument manufactured to be made for free and auctioned off, so that whatever proceeds it raises may be donated to a charity. I’d like to do this in honour of the generosity from complete strangers who are potential backers for my campaign, for without you. None of this will be possible.
I do feel a strong online presence would help reinforce the trust and transparency of the business and I’d like the community to hold me to account on my pledge.
I would like to do this for a few reasons.
• Raise awareness for those in need contribute to upliftment of the community.
• Start social – entrepreneurial focused revolution
I would like to challenge any and every other company to sacrifice margins for the upliftment of those out there who need help the most. I know the best way to do this would be to lead by example and so, if I am successfully funded, I will stay true to this.
I’d like to do it for another reason, my country has recently been called the corruption capital of the world and this has hurt me on a personal level because I know there are many of us who want the very best for our country and aren’t corrupt,
So again I’d like to lead by example and make the whole process transparent so that funders are confident the proceeds from every 10th instrument go to its intended destination.
The charity would be screened to ensure they in turn use the funds correctly too or the buyer of the instrument may choose, if they’d like – where the donation would go. (It must be unaffiliated to the buyer)
I’d like to do this to inspire investor confidence in my country as a whole with emphasis on transparency.
Helping fund my campaign, would mean the world to me. My campaign duration is 1 week long and I did this so we can get started as soon as possible on making dreams happen.
