Emerging Technology Ventures Inc. (ETV) is a remarkable Woman Owned Small Business, located in Alamogordo, NM, that works on discovering and implementing autonomous robotics in many domains. Currently ETV is working on a new system that will help small farms save time, money, and resources. Creating this system using Command and Control (C2) and Mission Planning techniques allows us to have multi-platform control over the drones/robot we use.
This will be a tool for any company wanting to accomplish a cross-domain solution to unmanned systems. The AGRowBot (Autonomous Ground Row-crop Robot) will use the system described above to help maintain crops for farmers. It’s autonomous solution allows the farmer/owner to have control over their crop in the comfort of their home and be able to tend to their field.
The AGRowBot will traverse up and down rows of crop while using Stereo Vision to detect plants and obstacles. The Stereo Vision on the robot w ill be able to discover abnormalities, flaws, issues, etc… It will categorize every individual plant and maintain their status in a database the farmer/owner will have access to at all times. By having this remote access to an entire crop, maintenance will become distant for the farmer/owner and they will be able to focus more on the many busy things they must get done throughout the long hardworking day. Although this does not eliminate labor entirely it is an amazing new tool that can help build the future of small farmers everywhere.
