Today Air Deck launched the first travel optimized playing cards on Kickstarter. With the Air Deck can you have a friend-winning tool with you at all times. When traveling you want to be as light and compact as possible, and you want reliable cards that won’t break, and that can be used in any environment. While even the best paper cards tear and stain easily, the Air Deck has been designed to outlast your travels. The cards are strong, flexible, shuffles with ease and have a premium feel to them. A textured front and a smooth back gives excellent handling and a good grip. The Air Deck is incredibly resistant to tearing and bending, and it’s totally waterproof. You can play with these in the pool, in the boat, in the tub, in the rain, at the beach, pretty much wherever you can think of.
The idea for this project was conceived by fellow globetrotters Ursus Negenborn and Rune Kippervik while traveling South East Asia. As minimalist travelers they couldn’t find any playing cards that was suited for traveling, and decided to see how they could improve on existing offers. Rune and Ursus are currently in Bangkok, Thailand.
