Extravagant simplicity made from industrial offcuts: industrierelikt crafts elegant bags and accessories from textiles designated for barber chairs and veneers normally used for the interior of cars and yachts. All our fairly in Germany produced recycling products are eco-friendly unique pieces – for women and men.

With a newly developed recycling concept we support industries in the reduction, reuse, and recycling of their waste streams: The focus is not to save already used materials from disposal but employ offcuts as a direct resource for new products without major energy input. From the-se we craft classy recycling products: textiles designated for sofas or chairs in medical prac-tices, veneers normally used for the interior of cars and yachts are turned into bags but as well other accessories which are manufactured out of our own production remains.

Our first collection consists of fairly produced bags and accessories which are elegant and moreover environment and resource friendly. Due to the nature of the used materials, all bags are unique specimen – for women and men equally. The weatherproofed combination of robust textiles and functionally applied veneers provide our bags with their unique shape. The wooden bottoms of the bags are environmentally treated and do not only grant a stable and safe stand on the ground but moreover protect in combination with the textiles the bags’ content from shocks and rain. Furthermore, due to the materials all bags are stain-resistant and easily washable.

All our products are made in Germany. The production is partly done in our own workshop in Weimar, Germany as well as in external, social entities. First, we select the materials for the unique piece, cut all materials and glue together the wood veneers. Our partner for the veneer treatment is a recognized workshop for disabled and handicapped individuals. The last part of the production – the assembly of textile and wood – is done in our studio in Weimar where we also check every single piece for quality.

We, Karen Häcker and Michel Treiber, are together the start-up label industrierelikt. Karen has a degree as product designer from Bauhaus-University Weimar and Michel has studied environmental sciences in Norwich and Oslo and completed a MBA in Paris. Besides industrierelikt we also spend a lot of our spare time together as a couple and are excited about changing es-tablished structures and ideas.
