On Janurary 24 2016, Aimen launched a Kickstarter campaign for the Cable Carousel – serving as an elegant solution for keeping your device cables organized and off your nightstand floor.
“The Cable Carousel is a beautiful solution for keeping your desk, dresser, drawer, or nightstand tidy and your device cables off the floor” says the creator. “It works great on just about any smooth surface, regardless of orientation!” The device uses a polyurethane nano-polymer that allows for continuous reuse on multiple surfaces. It is capable of accommodating roughly 6-8 standard thickness micro-USB or lightening cables.
The inspiration for the Cable Carousel came from the creators having to constantly pick their device cables off the floor near their nightstand every night. “Cheaper all plastic alternatives do exist, but we wanted a beautiful product that would not look out of place next to the expensive mobile devices that are common today.” After the creators made some prototypes using materials from a local home improvement store. They modeled the Cable Carousel and had the first official prototype 3D-printed for testing.
“Now we need people’s help. Because our product is made of premium materials like aircraft grade aluminum, this product is only viable if produced in large quantities.” Aimen explains, “By contributing to our project, you will help funding the initial tooling and machining costs to make our product a reality.”
In exchange for pledges, backers will gain access to the first production models of the Cable Carousel in any of the three available colors. Backers can choose to contribute anywhere from $14 for a single organizer to $96 for 8 organizers. Perfect for use around the home and office, or as gifts for friends and family.
