Vivid Games have launched their debut board game, Caves of Rwenzori, on the Kickstarter platform. It’s Indiana Jones meets the Labyrinth in a box.
It is a new and exciting game for 1-5 players and although both entertaining and challenging, it is easy to pick up and learn how to play in less than five minutes. It aims to be a main stay in homes around the world.
It is a subterranean strategy game of cunning decision-making where the cave is trying to stop your escape. Swing, dive, jump and more as you press on towards the light!
Caves of Rwenzori is a simple tile laying game, where every game is different.
In Caves of Rwenzori players take it in turns to place cave tiles to slow and obstruct their opponents forcing them to stop or move back through the cave network.
The goal of the game is to place all your tiles down and then be able to play the escape tile and win the game.
Commenting, James Trower, Game Designer, said:
“We wanted to make a laughter filled adventure for families and friends, with strategy and a real excitement, that makes you want to keep coming back to play time and time again.”
The game is in its first week on Kickstarter and already has been over 100% funded and will run until the 7th of May 2020.
It has been previewed by Unfiltered Gamer who said:
“Really easy to learn, really easy to teach, really easy to play, with the ability to make strategic decisions.”
Currently the game is only available through Kickstarter and those pledge will be among the first in the world to own and play the game. Kickstarter customers will receive their games before Christmas 2020. All future customers will need to wait until 2021.
