Hong Kong, Hong Kong — July 12, 2017 — Following the success of its two initial Kickstarter campaigns, CJR, a watch microbrand aims to shatter watchmaking conventions to craft ambitious, truly original timepieces, announces it kicked off the release of its highly anticipated watch, the Commander Series.

The Commander Series has a clear intention to pay homage to the aviation industry. Showcasing mechanical parts like the second wheel which represent the spinning turbine on a jet engine, and a 24-hour indicator any frequent flyers will appreciate. The dome shaped casing and bold colour scheme stage a fine blend between form and function fused with sleek design and bold looks. At the heart of this automatic timepiece is a beating heart from the world-renown movement maker Citizen Miyota.

Other features include hexagonal grillwork on the top and bottom of the watch face, super-luminous on the hour markers and hands. And, an open-dial, that displays little hints of Geneva stripes and the beating heart of the Miyota 82S7 movement. The casing is a three-piece construction, with metal casing sandwiched in the middle between two domed shaped mineral casing, a signature design of CJR.

CJR Founder Calvin Ng says, “In a time where minimalistic watches are the trend, CJR aims to go the opposite direction. The Commander Series watch is designed for those trendsetters and watch collectors who love complex designed timepieces with unconventional layout.

Commander Series, continues our signature aviation inspired watch, its dome shaped design is a show of heritage from our AIRSPEED model. However, whereas AIRSPEED is more a casual timepiece for everyone, the Commander was created to showcase the extension of our our design with bold looks with intricate layout.”

With a promising Kickstarter campaign, many of the limited rewards are still available. Backers can expect their rewards to ship in January of 2018.
