If two animal clans were to fight, which two animal clans would you like to see it battle each other?
In Angry Birds, we see the birds and the pigs up against one another. In Tom & Jerry, we see a cat and a mouse nitpicking against one another all the time. In Looney Tunes, we also have the coyote always trying to catch the roadrunner.
For me, I would like to see how the hares and the turtles would fare against each other. I know in the classic fable, the turtles lost to the hare in a speed race. I always thought the hare would like to have a rematch. Perhaps after the match the hares and the turtles became logger heads. I would definitely want to see how they battle it out.
Hares are basically fast runners while Turtles can always hide in their shells. This 2 animals would be an interesting match pair-up. And therefore, I present to you, Clanwar – Hare and Turtle.
The rivalry between the hares and the turtles have intensified into a war. This ongoing war shaped two main forms of ideologies. The Fascists who believes military power should be used for oppression of their enemies. The Liberals who believes military power should be used only as a form of defense. Thus, this distinction divides the hares and turtles into four distinctive clans.
The Banrul Clan which are the Liberal Hares.
The Shemex Clan which are the Liberal Turtles.
The Frotz Clan which are the Fascist Hares.
The Zantol Clan which are the Fascist Turtles
The Hares have the ability to hop around the field.
The Turtles have the ability to spin and push back an enemy unit.
The Liberals have the ability to share and split up accumulated damages with each other.
The Fascists have the ability to do a suicide attack on the opponents.
You position your units on the field and wait for the right time to attack. Each of your units also have their indiviual set of skills. For example the medics are able to heal an ally unit while troopers can guard your units from long ranged attacks.
Players are also restricted to 3 actions every turn. Playing a new card, using a clan ability and moving a unit on the field.
In order to use these actions, special tokens will be issued to denote this actions. The catch is this, players may use these actions in any order. They may choose to move a unit first and then launch an attack. They also may attack first and then move the unit away (like a hit-and-run). The tokens which are not used at the end of the player’s turn can also be used for card recovery.
If you are fan of war or strategy games, this is the game you should try out. It revolves around the element of tenacious decision making and meticulous in game planning. It also requires a fair amount of patience as you wait for your opponent’s to decide on their next move. Several of the game mechanics were also originated from Neuroshima Hex! www.kickstarter.com
