Cosykiller is the brainchild of the award winning international murder mystery games expert Red Herring Games who launched the project on Kickstarter to encourage early sign up and raised over 70% towards the project within the first 24 hours.

This unique crime puzzle game will enable individual players to immerse themselves in the golden age of fiction in a self-driven investigation which will require all their intelligence and perception.

Unlike many products in the market place which are utilising modern gadgetry, Red Herring Games have returned to old fashioned deduction, presenting the players with documents and artefacts from a bygone era to discover the perpetrators of a cold case.

“Everyone is going digital these days,” Said managing director Jo Smedley, “But we wanted to go back to the touchy-feely world of the 1930s. No one gets mail any more. Everything is on-line, but there is something really special about handling letters and objects. We wanted to supply a product that was immersive, engaging, and encouraged discussion.”

Cosykiller is the first murder mystery game aimed at the solo sleuth, but it’s also ideal for families and small groups.
“Families and small groups can work together to puzzle out the boxes.” Jo Smedley said. “We imagine over the course of the year players might end up producing their own version of an incident board to help them puzzle through the mystery.”

The company has launched the project on Kickstarter on the 1st August and within 24 hours had raised 70% of their development. With 29 days left to run, Red Herring Games are appealing to those interested in obtaining the first box for Christmas to sign up through their Kickstarter program now. Those interested can pledge to receive just one box or the entire series and join the others who are gaining a massive discount before the product goes live later this year.

“We are confident that we will be able to meet our Crowdfunding target before the month is over” Jo Smedley said. “But what will be interesting is to see just how popular this product is within the amateur detective community. Kickstarter will give us an early indication of the interest. We’re just waiting to see exactly how strong this interest is.”
