Past to Future Games has launched a Kickstarter to help fund its development of Dark Empire for PC and major consoles. Featuring a twist on old-school RPG combat along with dynamic dialogue and choices that actively change the environment, Dark Empire is a colonial themed RPG that will challenge the player to save the world of Solund that sits on the very edge of ruin.
Play the hero, a boy named Maxum, as he seeks a means to an end, one that will be birthed peacefully or deliver chaos to a fracturing world. As players start their journey from the isolated forests of Inite they will encounter colorful and diverse characters that they can recruit, create unique skill trees, seek out rare weapons, interact with countless NPC with changing dialogue, save or destroy towns and fight against a diverse set enemies, all who have their own goals. Dark Empire offers the experience of an immersive world that unfolds and changes based on player choices.
The Kickstarter runs until October 7th. It features a variety of pledges, including an early backer tier to receive the game at a massive discount, a digital soundtrack, art, and even a chance for a cameo appearance in the game. PTFGames is seeking to raise $5,000 for the development of the game, with stretch goals to include advanced features and support additional platforms.
