Guardian Moon Games launches “Destination Danger”, a Simplified Role-playing Adventure, Launches on Kickstarter and Funds in Three Days

Houston, Texas — On January 17th, 2019, Guardian Moon Games LLC launched their first game “Destination Danger” on the crowd-funding site Kickstarter. Within the first 3 days, the project had reached its funding goal and has begun focusing on unlocking “Stretch Goals” (funding objectives attached to core improvements to the game) as the company hopes to continue raising funds to mass produce the game.

What is Destination Danger
Destination Danger is a pocket-sized role-playing adventure set in the 1930s that can be played anywhere, anytime, and with anyone. As explained by io9* (a Gizmodo publication), “Destination Danger was designed to make it much easier to just dive in and play, requiring just a small deck of cards, and a handful of players who won’t need much time to familiarize themselves with the game’s basic rules.“ These cards contain all the information needed for players to launch into a quick and fun role-playing experience without requiring the traditional stack of manuals, miniatures, and dice.

Destination Danger was created to solve classic challenges that many role-players, or those new to role-playing in general, often struggle with. For example:

Many role-players struggle with coordinating schedules and ensuring the same group of friends can get together regularly enough to make their gaming experiences successful. Destination Danger solves this problem by playing like a role-playing “pickup game”. It allows players to play any scenario, with any group, at any time.

Most games require game boards, manuals, dice, etc… which can be cumbersome to travel with when you are out on the town. Destination Danger solves this problem by ensuring that everything you need to play is contained in one small pack of cards. No books, dice, or miniatures are required. All the components for play (player characters, items, monsters, and maps) can fit neatly into a standard shirt front pocket.

Many role-playing experiences are developed such that they require quite a bit of advanced preparation and then a significant commitment of time to gather together to play a campaign. Destination Danger, on the other hand, can run a full campaign in as little as 25 minutes! Additionally, players can get into a brand new game within 5 minutes due to the focus on simple mechanics and emphasis on story-telling. This allows each scenario to begin right in the middle of the action, forcing players to think and move quickly to achieve their objectives.

Destination Danger has already achieved its funding goal on Kickstarter, but development on the game continues and achieving stretch funding targets will unlock new expansions, characters, and general improvements to the game. Backers (in the US/Canada/EU) can expect to receive a physical copy of the game for a $20 USD contribution, with additional funding levels providing unique perks and experiences (such as a curated tour of the Houston Museum of Natural Science alongside the games founders for $4000!).

Guardian Moon Games is passionate about bringing unique and overwhelmingly fun experiences to gamers everywhere. The company invites gamers looking for a straight-forward, easy to pickup, role-playing adventure to checkout their Kickstarter campaign, which runs until February 5th, 2019.
