BIGFOOT versus the LOCH NESS MONSTER? Draw your cards, roll the die, and engage the world’s most iconic creatures in combat!
“I wanted a game that parents might actually enjoy playing with their kids; something quick to learn with lots of visuals, and featuring creatures we all grew up hearing about and can identify with. I got busy painting 100 different cryptids for the card art. They were all painted digitally and my son Trey contributed to the game mechanics. As an avid gamer, he knows what kids his age like, so I figured I’d better listen to him.”
The game features cryptids like the Jersey Devil, the Ozark Howler, the Michigan Dogman, the Maryland Goatman, a Sea Serpent, a Megaladon, the Rake, a Giant Anaconda, and many more. If it has been seen, reported, or rumored about, but has never been proven, it is a cryptid.
Cards are also categorized as Terrestrial, Aquatic, Extra-Terrestrial and Supernatural.
“The paintings are more realistic in design, depicting the cryptids as they may actually look in nature, rather than a cartoon or fantasy-style interpretation. I’ve spent years as an illustrator and painter, so this was an exciting project to work on.”
After painting over 100 creatures and hours of play-testing, CRYPTIDS is ready for manufacture. The boxed set will include 100 creature cards, 8 investigation cards, a 20″x20″ game-board, a 10-sided die, and a rulebook.
