Funding for this new film Kickstarter campaign has got off to a great start. The screenplay, a thriller about two thieves who meet burgling the same house at the same time, was originally chosen from hundreds to receive a production grant from the Earls Court Film festival where it will premiere at the end of the year. The film stars Himesh Patel in his first role after playing Tamwar in Eastenders for eight years.
Producer Seep Scriven said ‘We’re really delighted that the ECFF has chosen The Fox from hundreds of other entries and commended the screenplay being ‘an original fresh & entertaining voice’.’
Award-winning writer/director Henry Scriven says ‘The Fox is a short film that combines elements of noir, dark comedy and crime thrillers against an urban backdrop. It is set in West London where the rich are an easy target for experienced thieves. This film is about reflection. Amidst the action and drama it’s really a look at what it takes to change yourself, to sacrifice everything you’ve built up for a better life, a change, a new start.’
Henry’s debut feature film, How To Become A Criminal Mastermind starring Joerg Stadler (Saving Private Ryan, Spy Game), picked up four festival awards including the Best Low Budget Film Award at the London Independent Film Festival and the Best Director Award at the Green Bay Film Festival despite being shot for less than £20,000. Prior to that his short films such as To Let, The Babysitter and Divided screened and won awards at film festivals such as BFI London Future Festival, Edinburgh Short Film Festival and London Shortcutz Film Festival.
With 25% raised in their first day it looks like the Bloody Rascal Films team is well on their way to hitting their target. If you would like to see the project, view the video, support or share with your friends and family, please follow the link below. www.kickstarter.com
