The Kandu KTÄK “body snare” is the first-ever, dual-sound wearable snare for professional percussionists. Custom designed for musicians, its high-quality sound completes one of the most versatile acoustic percussion instruments ever created.

Coming in at 525 grams (18.5 ounces) and roughly the diameter of a Frisbee, KTÄK is a big challenger to the standard Cajon – the go-to instrument for percussionists seeking ethnic Latin sounds – and its attractive price tag (£49 $77) only increases that appeal.

According to designer and Kandu co-founder Shachar Bergman, “The KTÄK was designed with travel in mind; we wanted to create an instrument that would turn every moment into a potential musical opportunity.”

KTÄK has two unique percussion sides. One offers a crisp high snare, while the other gives a clean, clear, natural ethnic sound.

Handmade from selected hardwood by craftsmen with 20 years’ experience, each drum is individually inspected for quality assurance.

Kandu began creating their handmade Cajons six years ago, they have since become a staple for some of the industry’s biggest name musicians. Now, according to Kandu co-founder Yaniv Sharabi, “when a percussionist friend of ours asked us for something mobile with ethnic sound, we leveraged all the experience we had gained from our years of building Cajons to arrive at this great little drum”

Kandu recently launched the KTÄK body snare on Kickstarter and has received a powerful initial response. The feedback and reviews they’ve received so far from professional percussionists have been very positive.
