After my wife was in a car accident two years ago, it was a long road to recovery. We spent a lot of time and resources on physical therapy and getting her back on her feet. When she was finally able to return to work, she started using ergonomic equipment to ease discomfort during her workday.
When we both had to start working from home due to COVID-19, we had to invest our own money into office furniture. My wife had a lot of discomfort and complained about the lack of lower back support. This is how our idea was birthed; to start a business that provides ergonomic home and office furniture.
Our first product is the Extended Ergonomic Footrest. The thoracolumbar spine (the full spine) should be in a neutral position for extended hours. A footrest creates this position by elevating the feet and allowing the hips to sit back at a better angle.
Most footrests are approximately 40 cm long. Our footrest is 54 cm long which provides ergonomic comfort for people of all heights and allows ample room to change foot positions and stretch your legs. It is also height adjustable as the bottom piece can be removed.
Another amazing feature of our footrest is that its inside cushion is extremely sturdy and comfortable, being made of high density memory foam. It’s firmness makes this footrest an effective pressure releasing tool as you put the weight of your legs and feet on it to relieve pressure from your lower back. The firmness also keeps the cushion inflated and in form, and allows you to use this product with or without shoes.
To give this product a long life, we gave the footrest washable covers. These covers can be removed and thrown into your washing machine at home. Enjoy a lost lasting and clean footrest!
Even the bottom of this footrest has been designed for optimal effectiveness as we have put strong gripping material on its bases to make this a sturdy and non-slip footrest.
With such a great product, that will benefit many homes and offices, we would love to get it on the market as soon as possible. One of our biggest challenges has been financial. Being a small business, my wife and I have had to put our own money into start-up costs thus far. Now we are reaching out to our online and global community for support. www.kickstarter.com
