Real-Time Tactics, Survival Horror, Roguelike Game Targets $135,000 Funding Goal
Pittsburgh, PA — Today Schell Games launched a Kickstarter campaign with the goal of raising $135,000 in a 31 day campaign for its newest video game The Nullpoint.
For the PC and Mac, The Nullpoint is a blend of RTS gameplay and roguelike dungeon crawling where the player takes control of a small team of survivors stranded inside a mysterious alien structure. Uncover the story of the massive, space-borne labyrinth while scavenging for supplies, avoiding horrific monsters, and exploring the many randomly generated levels of the Nullpoint. This single player game leverages real-time tactics, survival horror elements and rogue-like style perma-death for an intensely unique and replayable experience.
At all funding levels, backers will receive a copy of the game. With levels ranging from $20 to $999, there are several physical rewards available to backers including patches, t-shirts, posters and 3D printed miniatures. In addition, the campaign include special early bird levels for people who support the project at the beginning of the campaign.
Schell Games intends to use the Kickstarter funds towards continued development of the game. If fully funded, all proceeds from Kickstarter will go directly toward adding features and content. The company hopes to release The Nullpoint on the Steam platform if its funding goal is reached. It also plans to provide a DRM-free option. Until then, there is a free playable prototype of the game available for download.
The Kickstarter campaign will run until Friday, November 13, at 12:00 PM ET. For more information, visit the Kickstarter page, review the game’s website, follow the team on Twitter at @TheNullpoint or peruse the press kit.
