10th October, 2018 — Sheffield Educational games company Panjango are on a mission to transform the way the world learns. The company, which aims to create a world of experiential learning and encourage children to think about the future of work through games and online resources, will introduce their first two products in October as part of a crowdfunding campaign.

Teachers and parents have long sought to make learning fun and demonstrate to children how their studies will be used in life after school, but, until now, they have lacked the tools and resources to do so effectively. Panjango’s games not only gamify the learning experience, but also give learning context by putting children in the shoes of adults and challenging them to solve real problems faced by professionals in the world of work.

Panjango’s Future Jobs Trumps take players somewhere that no other educational resources have gone before. They introduce children to the idea of thinking about the job market of the future and how they can equip themselves with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to adapt and flourish in the rapidly changing job market.

The Future Jobs pack introduces children to jobs such as a ‘Martian Botanist’, ‘Climate Engineer’ or ‘4D Printer’ to encourage children to consider how the job market may change, and what weird and wonderful jobs they may wish to pursue in the future. Who knows, one day maybe your child will end up working as a Rewilder or a Virtual Sportsperson!

Panjango have collaborated with leading futurists, including the UNESCO Chair of Future Studies, to generate accurate, objective data that gives the game great credibility and makes it a better learning experience for children.

The company’s groundbreaking approach has already attracted £150k investment from the Young Foundation in order to launch their brand and products, and the company now hope the crowdfunding campaign will further springboard their ambitious plans and help their products reach a wider audience.

Co-founder, Jon Maiden, says “Our education system is currently one-dimensional – focusing on the acquisition of knowledge in order to pass exams. Our games will pioneer the concept of “4D Learning” by adding three new dimensions to young people’s learning journey: the application of knowledge, skill and character development, and real-world experience.”

“Our aim is that our products will prepare young people to flourish in life after school by equipping them with the practical knowledge, skills and experience they need to fulfil their potential.”

The Panjango Game is a fast-paced board game exploring the world of work. Players compete and collaborate on an exciting and varied range of questions and action challenges as they discover new careers, see how their learning can be applied in exciting ways, and develop the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the modern world.

Panjango Trumps pitches 50 different jobs against each other and sees which scores highest on categories like salary, brain power, and even the risk of a robot taking your job. Our Future Jobs extension pack explores 50 weird and wonderful jobs of the future, from Moon Miner to Memory Surgeon, or Extinction Revivalist to Robot Rights Lawyer.

The team at Panjango have combined painstaking research and content writing with simple and accessible game mechanics to create games that offer both enjoyment and learning. The games are intended for use by children aged 7 to 14, either at home or in the classroom.

These offline games follow the release of the company’s prototype Panjango for Schools online platform which maps the school curriculum onto work-related challenges. The platform has already been used by more than 1,000 schools across the UK. Panjango hope that their games will ultimately be used by young people around the world and that a successful Kickstarter campaign in October will be the catalyst for this success.

The Future Jobs packs will have an RRP of £9.99. There are exclusive discounts available for those who sign up to support the Kickstarter campaign early. You can sign up at www.panjango.com/kickstarter.
