Hey y’all, I’m a desperate cat mom out of work right now due to Covid (I’m a bartender.)
My bobtail Molly aka Shuggaries, my quarantine buddy, my best friend, my baby and companion of nine years now, is at the emergency vet. This is her second night after several trips to the regular vet Monday, Tuesday, AND Wednesday. We took her to the vet on Monday because she hadn’t eaten much the week prior, hadn’t passed stool, didn’t leave my bed, though the vet said she seemed fine. Yesterday, Thursday afternoon, she tried to stand up and fell over so we rushed her to the emergency vet. Estimated cost is around $3,000 before medication and possible surgery, though at this point that hopefully won’t be necessary. So far she has had blood work done, a urine analysis, and an ultrasound.
All details are provided in the link to my GoFundMe, however, they’re beginning to believe it’s Pancreatitis causing her pain, lack of bowel movements, and lethargy. I’m just so worried because she isn’t herself at all; she’s usually talking and chirping nonstop, fetching, cuddling up all over me. She’s currently tired, sad, and very much in pain. Molly is currently being treated at the clinic with anti inflammatory medicine, anti nausea medication, pain relievers, and IV fluids. If anyone can donate, or even just share my GoFundMe page, send a kind thought or prayer my way, I would be so grateful.
I know times are tough for all of us right now, I’m out of work myself since I’m a bartender, and all of this comes after not being able to work for four months due to getting a severely broken foot last September and needing surgery with no insurance. Molly has been my best friend for 9 years and I need all the help I can get to save her. She has saved my life so many times over the years and it is my turn to return the favor. Thank you all so much.
