If you like playing cards and phonographs come check out High Fidelity Playing Cards. A tribute to Charles Goodall’s scrollwork and ornamental patterns a rare deck printed around 1899. This classy set of playing cards showcases two main influences: a beautiful and historic Charles Goodall deck, as well as the Victorian phonograph. The tuck box features dark blue card stock which is adorned with copper foil on both sides, with a particularly extravagant design on the back and sides, highlighting the luxury that lies within.

The court cards are hand drawn copies of the original courts. The deck’s name already hints at its Victorian inspiration, with the designation “High Fidelity” having musical significance, as well as pointing to the fact that it draws its designs from a stunning 19th century Goodall deck that it re-imagines. As we look at this deck, we can imagine famous playing card designer Charles Goodall himself, listening to his phonograph, as he puts together some of the most stunning court cards that were produced in the Victorian era.

The final version of this deck will be produced by Legends Playing Card Company (LPCC) using their Classic finish. LPCC is an industry leader known for producing high quality playing cards in Taiwan, and their playing cards are noted for having the accurate printing registration which is essential for this deck. They’re also very durable and handle smoothly, and the Classic Finish is a fine choice to ensure a quality product which matches the beauty of the artwork. This is my 4th deck of cards on Kickstarter and it is sure to be your go to deck for your next poker game or game of hearts.
