Belgrade, SRB — February 16, 2019 — Independent art platform, iksvy art, launched a Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming podcast that tackles with Eastern European art scene. The goal is to sit down with those involved with art and speak about, in the form of a casual conversation, the struggles and challenges that they as a creator have faced. Equally, the focus is to create an online database of the art and give a visual and auditory face for the artists and art professionals who share an interest in Eastern Europe.
For iksvy art, nationalities or geographical borders do not define Eastern Europe, unlike the traditional Western approach. Anyone who’s based in the region, passed by and produced an artwork, or found a glimpse of inspiration even from miles away is part of this focus group. We are open to every single creative idea and project that aims to benefit the region without manipulating current and past issues.
The main aim and end game is to inspire and motivate others who don’t necessarily have to be artists themselves, but share an interest in it while at the same time, promoting the region and its culture. “I like what it stands for, the podcast will motivate especially young people who are trying to live off of what they love to do.” says the young cinematographer Miguel Toriz who joined the team to help with the campaign video.
