I am a 19 year old student from Wollongong Australia and I just launched my very first Kickstarter Campaign yesterday (1-Aug-17). My campaign will run for 30 days in total and my goal is $5800. I have created this project to offer people the chance to pre-order my ‘invention’ titled the levelR. The levelR makes mounting pictures a fail proof task that is super simple and quick. It harnesses the technology of your smartphone and ensures a perfectly level result every time. I am raising the money to allow me to go into manufacturing as so far, I have only been able to afford prototyping. Backers of my campaign will be able to select a reward option that ranges in value. It ranges from a reward free donation all the way through to a 3 pack of levelR’s, with an average price per unit being only approx. $19 but as low as just over $16!
I originally created this to help myself decorate my mother’s house. My quirky little invention was another one of those ‘things’ that I have always done in life, but this time it was something more, something that my family believed other people would be interested in buying. The experience of taking this small idea in my mind all the way through design, market testing, prototyping, manufacturing and now crowd funding has been incredible and raising just under $1500 in my first 24 hours was a great boost in confidence, but now I must push this further to keep the momentum rolling.
Since the commencement of this project, I have found a large passion in product design and it is now something that I would like to pursue as a career option for myself in the future and having a successful campaign will definitely catapult my dreams of this career to a more realistic and achievable goal.
Coming from this small-town upbringing, getting something from my mind to the hands of people around the world will truly be a humbling experience and something that I can confidently say will be the most amazing experience of my life to this point. I will be forever thankful to anyone who backs my project in any way, shape or form!
