We’re Athaaso. Now, you may be wondering what that is, and I don’t blame you. Really, we’re just three guys who, three years ago, got bored. And I mean, really bored. I don’t know how high school was for any of you, but for us it was long and slow, and eventually we decided to end our boredom by making a card game. The game was admittedly rough, made from hand cut, hexagonal cards, with crude writing and weird rules, but it was fun. It’s been three years since then, and the game has grown with us tremendously. It’s got proper artwork, backgrounds, and we even managed to print a copy last year. We believe in simple, pure fun, and this project has managed to give that to us over the years, and it is this that we wish to share, at least in some small part, to all of you.
The rules of the game are simple. You and your opponent first make a deck of 18-40 cards, and lay the board out like this. Yes, the board. The main draw of this game is that instead of your cards being static on a bench, you can move them about. This creates entirely new strategies, along with the tile based nature of the board, where tiles will flip and be added, or destroyed, based on your actions and card abilities. This directly affects your mana, what you use to summon cards. Mana is the number of your opponent’s tiles on the board, plus the number of your own monsters on the board. I know I’m probably making this sound way more complicated than it actually is, but you can get a taste of a sample game in one of our videos.
Anyway, this is Mea: The Tiled Kingdom, a game of wacky characters and simple fun gameplay. Back us and we’ll send you a copy.
