March 02, 2016 — M A D E, New York based startup announces their launch on Kickstarter with the goal of bringing bespoke footwear into the digital age. M A D E – Redefining the men’s custom footwear industry.

M A D E takes 14 foot measurements to makes a shoe that follows the natural shape of your feet.

Founded by long time friends Sung Lee and James Won, M A D E is the world’s first online bespoke shoe company that combines traditional craftsmanship with innovative technology. M A D E’s revolutionary 3D foot scanning app and online store bypasses the need for multiple appointments with shoemakers and shortens the waiting period from 6-8 months to 6-8 weeks.

Through M A D E’s Foot Scanner app, bespoke shoes are now accessible to anybody with a smartphone. The app allows customers to digitally scan their feet in under 5 minutes. The data is automatically sent to their team of specialists who construct a prototype shoe which is sent to the customer for a test fitting. After a good fit is confirmed, a final pair is delivered within 4-6 weeks.

“Most people don’t realize the importance of a good fit” said Sung Lee, the CEO and co-founder of M A D E. “A bad fitting shoe can lead to health problems in the feet, knees, and lower back. We’re thrilled to be offering a solution at an affordable price without compromising on quality or style.”

M A D E has invested in its own facilities to maintain complete control over quality and a direct relationship with the customer. They source their leather from the same tanneries used by high end brands like Berluti and Hermes, and craft their shoes using the hand welted construction method, a time consuming technique only used by a handful of high-end brands.

M A D E’s Kickstarter campaign comes on the heels of their highly successful beta-program. Confident that their service and products are ready, they are looking to raise funds for a public launch. M A D E is aiming to launch their online store and increase production by the summer of 2016.
