Ever heard that, “if you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere”?

You’ve heard that saying? Have you said it before? Both for me, I moved to New York like most people do for a change. a career change, life change, what reason i did it simply for change. I moved from Ohio to New York in 2014, I was 20 had no ties so I up and left. It’s 2019 5 years later I’ve been through the shelter system single, family, and couple.

I finally got a apartment in December 2018. With a voucher from the city @ $1515 i found a “2” bedroom basement apartment in the bronx that was “approved” by the city through inspection. Said apartment leaks in the kitchen when it rains, has other problems that shouldn’t even be a issue if the apartment was built correctly and if investigated correctly would have been fixed prior to us moving in. Now I’m also a welfare recipient that is trying to get completely off welfare, my housing voucher is connected to this as well. So the second i work over the income amount I lose everything.

It’s screwed or get more screwed if I’m being honest, unless you’ve been that low to depend on these resources to have better ground to stand on your not gonna get it. Oh how easy it is look down on those you know nothing about, and if you’ve never struggled or been born into money (no matter the amount) you simply just wont get it.

This release is for me to get my situation/story out there, to get my gofundme out there, take a second look it over if your moved to please share/donate its all much appreciated.im just a woman trying to give my kids better, better than what i had as a kid and better than I’m providing now. By no means do i plan on this being the only way to raise the money, just a avenue. www.gofundme.com
