“Moonshiners of the Apocalypse” is a morally questionable, not-so-cooperative mashup of town-building, 4x, and just a tad of dice combat for 2-4 players.
In other words, it’s a board game where you lay tiles, move resources and workers around, while fighting off hordes of disgruntled Drunkards that roam the town looking for trouble.
Did I say fight? I meant drink them under the table. Arm yourself with a crate of the strongest booze and start drinking, because any unchallenged enemy will hunt you down and mess with your precious achievements.
Set in an alternative, post-apocalyptic 1920s, players in “Moonshiners” compete to explore and re-build the deserted “Shanty Town” because in seven days (rounds) a hot air balloon is coming, but only the player able to pay the most for a ticket will escape the wretched town.
Every action you take has to do with one thing and one thing only: make people pay you. Build distilleries, turn houses into pubs and saloons and supply those with moonshine, and the survivors will pay you handsomely, each round taking you one step closer to escape!
